DuVCIC

Duke Undergraduate Venture Capital Investment Competition

The Duke Undergraduate Venture Capital Investment Competition is a tremendous learning experience for the Duke undergraduate entrepreneurship community. Modeled after the highly successful, UNC based, MBA level VCIC, DuVCIC joins undergraduate student teams, real life entrepreneurs, and professional VC judges in an investment-analysis and decision making competition. As an educational event, DuVCIC is designed to provide students with an opportunity to think, act, and be evaluated as professional VC's. The competition requires teams to possess in-depth analytical skills in business plan analysis, commanding leadership in one-on-one negotiations, and an adapting think-on-your-feet approach in a dynamic and competitive environment.

Additionally, DuVCIC is a threefold collaborative opportunity that allows not only for undergraduate exposure and development, but also hosts a productive meeting ground between emerging companies and leading VC professionals. As such, the event is a great place for entrepreneurs to build new relationships and receive critical feedback on their business models, thereby increasing future funding potential. And similarly, for the industry professionals, DuVCIC serves as a great opportunity to be a leader and supporter for young students, to be exposed to exciting and promising projects in development, and finally to be a part of an inspiring, creative, and energetic venture, which hopes to depict these same qualities in the real world VC field.
